One of the most exciting new arrivals in Paris must certainly be the stunning new Fondation Louis Vuitton building which spreads its glass wings over the edge of the Bois de Boulogne. Designed by renowned architect Frank Gehry, the building will house one of the most prestigious collections of contemporary art in the world and some thrilling events will mark its opening.
The opening of the Louis Vuitton Foundation will be comprised of three stages, and the first is dedicated to an exploration of architect Frank Gehry’s unique concept. Frank Gehry says ‘It is a very unusual building; I have never designed anything like it.’ Take an exciting step by step journey from the early drawings to a display of models that includes a large centrepiece confirmation model. This superb exhibition offers you the opportunity to see new technology such as the exclusive software that was used to help create every unique Ductal or glass panel. The building has been designed to resemble the sails of a ship, and you can see this clearly in the centrepiece of the exhibition which uses dark backgrounds and illumination enhance the effect.
Over the course of the next few months a wide range of exciting events are planned at the Louis Vuitton Foundation, and of course you will also be able to discover the permanent collection which covers all aspects of contemporary art from sculpture to painting.
